Im 32 years old and live in Sorø, south of Copenhagen, with my wife. I originally hail from the suburbs of Copenhagen, a place called Greve, but moved to the big city when i turned 21. in 2005 i moved to Malmø in Sweden, just across Øresund from Copenhagen. Did as all the other young men moving there, bought a fancy car and a nice flat. My Malmø period went a little like this; Man buys fancy car -> Man meets girl -> Man takes girl for a ride(in the car!) -> Man marries girl -> Man sells fancy car. Men of the world, you know what I am talking about ;-).
Working with computers came as a rather random thing for me. In my youth is was a musician wannabe, and in between 2 admission tests on the Royal Danish Academy of Music I needed a job. My father was bitching that the IT department at his company was understaffed and bascially doing a shitty job. The rest, as we say it, is history. So here i am, a IT professional, but the Tuba is still the funkiest instrument known to mankind!
For the past couple of years I have been concentrated on the topic of virtualization, and mostly on the VMware flavour of this.
Working with this I have gained a solid experience in designing and implementing VMware Infrastructure Solutions, and a broad understanding of a spectrum of different infrastructure technologies such as operating systems, security, storage, network, etc. One of the most important lessons I have learned in implementing virtualization in large environments is the skill of communicating the virtualization message to the people. You can implement a snazzy solution, but if no one understands the solution you have done, it really does not matter how skilled you are. You will fail.
I am a product of the Microsoft era and therefore have extended experience in designing and implementing Microsoft solutions. Both the standard Microsoft infrastructure such as Active Directory, but I am also well versed in both Exhange and ISA server solutions.
At the moment I hold the following VMware certifications and accreditations:
- VMware Certified Professional - VMware 3.x
- VMware Sales Professional
- VMware Technical Sales Professional - Infrastructure Virtualization Specialty
- VMware Technical Sales Professional - VSLA Management Specialty
- VMware Technical Sales Professional - Desktop Solution Specialty
Besides this i have started the road towards the VCDX certification
- Pass the VCP Certification - DONE
- Pass the VCDX Enterprise Administration Exam - DONE
- Pass the VCDX Design Exam - Yet to be released (but signed up for the BETA)
- Submit, present and defend a successful VMware Infrastructure design and implementation plan - Yet to be planned and need step 3 done first.
On the side I hold the following certifications too:
- Microsoft Certified System Engineer 2003
- Microsoft Certified Professional
Certifications soon to follow:
- CCA Citrix XenServer 5.0
- Something with Hyper-V (come on MS!)
Besides working at BusinessMann A/S with Heino, I am also a VMUG Denmark Leader and die hard Ferrari F1 fan.
Feel free to leave a comment. Thanks in advance. Regards Heino.
